My Favorite Editor: Vim. Yes Vim. You emacs users think you’re so smart?!
My Programming Languages: Lately I’ve been using a lot of Python, though I make my living with PHP and have for nearly a decade. I still have a soft place in my heart for Pascal. It was the first real language I used, and I still love it, though I can never use it.
I spend more than a little time as a professional sysadmin. I install operating systems much more frequently than I work on my car, and I certainly find it easier to install Linux than change a tire. For Linux distro’s I usually use some flavor of Ubuntu, though on my servers I always choose FreeBSD. My love of unix operating systems is what made me a Mac fan. Mac OS X is unix under the hood, and I almost always have several command line windows open. I’m not doctrinare about Microsoft, I just don’t like Windows very much.
I help webmaster sites for a couple groups I belong to (and yes I am fond of WordPress): Vergennes Lions Club, Lions District 45 and the Vergennes Congregational Church.
Sometimes people ask if I’ll fix your computer. Maybe. But if you’re running Windows there are people much better than me. For Macs or FreeBSD? Call me – I’m not particularly cheap, but I can be bought.
